Professor Zhang Chuanhui from Qingdao University was invited to deliver a keynote speech at the 8th Chengdu University of Information Technology Forum on Ecology and Environment.
2025-06-26 14:24

On the afternoon of June 24, 2025, Professor Zhang Chuanhui from Qingdao University was invited to deliver an academic lecture titled "Design, Modification of Co₃O₄ Catalysts and Study on Their Catalytic Oxidation Performance for Vinyl Chloride" to the faculty and students of our college. A number of professional teachers and graduate students from the college attended the lecture, which was hosted by Professor Deng Zhiyong of the college.

This report focuses on the catalytic oxidation of vinyl chloride and conducts systematic optimization of Co₃O₄ catalysts. By regulating the morphology and adopting metal doping strategies (such as Ce, La, etc.), the redox performance and oxygen vacancy concentration of the catalysts are optimized. It focuses on investigating the low-temperature activity and stability of modified Co₃O₄ in the catalytic oxidation reaction of vinyl chloride, revealing the structure-performance correlation mechanism, and providing theoretical support and practical basis for the development of high-efficiency and durable catalysts for volatile exhaust gas purification.

Personal Profile

Zhang Chuanhui is a Professor and Master’s Supervisor at Qingdao University. He obtained dual doctoral degrees in Industrial Catalysis from East China University of Science and Technology and Environmental Catalysis Engineering from University Claude Bernard Lyon 1 (France) in 2014. From 2014 to 2017, he served as an Assistant Research Fellow and then Associate Research Fellow at the Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

His main research interests cover catalytic purification of atmospheric pollutants, catalytic conversion of CO₂, and electrocatalysis for fuel cells. He has presided over a number of research projects, including the General Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Youth Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Youth Program of the Shandong Provincial Natural Science Foundation, Qingdao Applied Basic Research Program (Youth Project), and General Program of the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation (Grade A).

In recent years, he has published more than 50 research papers in mainstream catalysis and chemical engineering journals, such as Applied Catalysis B: Environmental, Chemical Engineering Journal, Journal of Hazardous Materials, Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, Catalysis Today, Catalysis Science & Technology, Applied Catalysis A: General and Applied Surface Science. Among these publications, 35 were authored by him as the first author or corresponding author (including 6 ESI Highly Cited Papers and 2 ESI Hot Papers).

Currently, he holds several academic and advisory positions, including reviewer for multiple international journals, expert listed in the talent pool of Qingdao Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, and peer reviewer for the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
