On June 20, 2025, in Meeting Room 221 of Zihuan Building, Wang Yating, Director of the Institute of Soil Ecology and Acoustic Environment at the Chengdu Academy of Environmental Protection Sciences, conducted an academic exchange with faculty members and students of the college centering on the theme "Battle for Clean Soil: Systematic Practices and Long-term Mechanisms for Soil Pollution Control".

The venue was filled with a strong academic atmosphere. Teachers and students actively raised questions, which Director Wang answered one by one. The session featured lively interactions and constant ideological collisions.

At the outset of the event, drawing on her professional perspective and rich experience, Wang Yating delivered a detailed and in-depth introduction to and guidance on the current status, existing problems, and future development direction of soil surveys in Chengdu. She not only expounded on the significance of soil survey work but also used specific cases and data to help the audience gain a more intuitive understanding of the actual soil conditions in Chengdu.

Subsequently, she provided a systematic explanation of the relevant guidelines, laws, and regulations governing soil surveys, as well as the development history of such work. This enabled the audience to develop a deeper understanding of the standardization and rigor required for soil survey activities. During the presentation, special attention was paid to the contradictions between practical survey processes and soil guidelines, and clear explanations were given by combining real-world cases, which dispelled the confusion that might be encountered in actual operation.

After the lecture, the session moved on to an interactive Q&A segment. Faculty members raised questions concerning the optimization of soil survey methods and the accuracy of data processing. Graduate students also participated actively, putting forward inquiries about soil sample collection, analytical techniques, and other related issues based on their own research directions and practical needs. This visit and exchange not only provided the audience with a more comprehensive and in-depth understanding of soil survey work in Chengdu but also offered new ideas and directions for the college’s teaching and research endeavors in related fields.
