To promote the high-quality development of the college's majors and achieve connotative development in higher education, the College of Resources and Environment conducted a self-assessment for the stage inspection of national first-class undergraduate major construction in Meeting Room 221 of the Resources and Environment Building on the afternoon of September 12th.
Professor Liu Min, Vice Dean of the College of Architecture and Environment at Sichuan University, Professor Gong Zhengjun, Executive Dean of the School of Environmental Science and Engineering at Southwest Jiaotong University, and Professor Wang Bing, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Southwest Petroleum University, were invited as experts to comprehensively inspect and evaluate the construction achievements of our college's two national first-class undergraduate majors: Environmental Science and Environmental Engineering. Xu Chenghua, Dean of the College, Liu Shengyu, Vice Dean, Fang Shuhong, Vice Dean, major leaders, department chairs, members of the college's teaching guidance committee, representatives of professional teachers, and teachers from the college's academic affairs section attended the meeting.
Before the meeting, the college required all majors to actively conduct self-checks and self-assessments, systematically reviewing the main practices and stage achievements in major construction since being approved as national first-class undergraduate majors.
Xu Chenghua introduced the background and importance of this stage inspection, emphasizing that the construction of national first-class undergraduate majors is a crucial measure for our college to improve education and teaching quality and cultivate innovative talents. He hoped that the expert review would further enhance the level of major construction in the college.
During the meeting, the leaders of each major sequentially reported on the major's profile, construction goals and tasks after being selected, completion of construction goals and tasks, work measures and achievements after being selected, existing problems, and future work measures. The experts carefully listened to the reports and acknowledged that the college had made significant progress in major positioning, curriculum design, faculty construction, and practical teaching. They also provided some constructive suggestions and opinions, hoping that each major would continue to deepen educational and teaching reforms, innovate continuously, and further improve the level of major construction.
This stage inspection and self-assessment meeting not only tested the stage achievements of the college's first-class undergraduate major construction but also guided the future direction of major construction. The college will continue to adhere to the student-centered approach, focus on improving education quality, deepen educational and teaching reforms, and ensure the construction of national first-class undergraduate majors.
